FAQ
What's so special about escāpe aromatics?
We put a lot of thought into each of our scents. We have a limited number of scents because we want to carefully craft each one. The name of the scent, how it smells, and the labels are all hand-crafted and designed. We test each one with friends, family, and members of the community to see what works and what doesn't
What ingredients are used in your candles?
We only use 100% dye-free soy wax from a local supplier. This means our candles are non-toxic, non-reactive, and free of any paraffins, a petroleum byproduct. Paraffin wax, while a cheap ingredient, is not something you want to be burning a lot of in your home. It's used by most of the inexpensive and mass produced candles on the market which is why they are so affordable.
Soy wax, beeswax, and coconut wax are all great alternatives to paraffins and are much safer to burn.
What causes the white marks on my soy candles?
Occasionally, white marks may appear on soy candles due to the nature of the soy wax. The tiny, white looking crystals on the tops and sides of jars are called frosting and are very similar to the frosted look on chocolate. This is a natural characteristic of soy wax and should not be treated as a flaw. It does not affect the quality or burn of the candle.
How long should I burn my candle?
Soy candle wax has what’s called a memory. That means that when you burn a soy candle and then extinguish it, the next time you burn it, the soy candle wax will melt across as far as it did the first time.
This is why it is so important to allow soy candles to burn all the way across to the edge of the container before putting it out. This ensures that your soy candle does not “tunnel” as it burns, leaving wax along the sides of the container.
